I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

Actually it worked 10 minutes after I posted this - so it took, literally 10 mins to process 25 block rollbacks.

    why?

Many users keep stating that LB uses way lesser ram and has a smaller databse.
Hm, there are three factors: complexity of the query (many parameters), count of rows and cpu load.

Whoops, there shouldn't be so much error log when the question times out after 5 minutes.

a bit to note - we are on the Milliseconds instead of ticks.

  7. Offline

    DiddiZ

That shouldn't matter, the questioner runs autonomous and uses no config from LB.

Just reporting for you :) let me know if i can test anything else - but the lag on the rollback is still massive - :(

    Great, thanks. :)
There is still a proposal, is that people do nothing, and they spoil the landscape maps, come every week to cut down the server and clean world. Is it possible to do so to restore that part of the landscape, throw it with the command (/lb restore area 10)?

  15. Offline

    DiddiZ

Added it, and it just needed 11 lines of code:
    https://github.com/DiddiZ/LogBlock/commit/75b4ce789489832970a94204d7dce2b5615909eb
Epic win for my commands system :D
Here we go, most likely this wouldn't be possible with the old system. (It wasn't even worth to call it system :D)
Not quite sure weather you mean "/lb redo" or WorldEdit's "//regen"
    EDIT:
I advise to make a worldedit selection and:
    //regen
    //lb clearlog sel time 99 d

There are some bugs I've to track down and some features I want to add.

Can't believe nobody has asked this (on the last 10 pages)...is it possible to build in painting and minecart create/destroy logging? For some mysterious reason paintings are not liked by plugins.

  20. Offline

    DiddiZ

Minecarts and paintings are not possible atm, due to their high item id (> 255).

It says "2011-06-09 13:53:21 [WARNING] [LogBlock Consumer] Failed to add player Intheline"

  22. Offline

    DiddiZ

Most likely v1.02 should be fix that.
Until then, you'll have to add the player manually:
"INSERT INTO `lb-players` (playername) VALUES ('Intheline');"
    name is case sensitive

I dont know if this has been asked, if so, i apologize for asking this but i couldn't find it.

Is there another command for rollbacking a certain area? If not, why remove the option to do it? What i'm speaking of is '/lb rollback playerarea' command. It was the best rollback command without a doubt, and i would love to see it coming back if it is removed.

  24. Offline

    DiddiZ

Even that's possible with the new syntax: :D
    /lb rollback player <name> area <radius>

    Zaila

Is it really working? trying to rollback fire right now within a 30 area radius, which burned down around 2 hours ago. I see it with /lb area but when trying to rollback it, says 0 blocks found, rollback aborted.

/lb rollback player fire area 30 time 3 hours

    Sir Joe

How much usage does this plugin actually cause I mentioned this to my server provider and they went crazy saying that it is a full action log plugin and it goes crazy on the mysql database with a good amount of players, I was just wondering anyone with 30+ players regularly on how big is this database and what is your bandwith etc.

  30. Offline

    DiddiZ

Hm, extrapolated from my data, it should be about 500.000 rows dayly, so about 35 mb log dayly. For a a server of that size you shouln't even consider using a remote MySQL server, so there's no bandwidth usage :D
