    Hello everyone!

Right now I am trying to create a server but I am having a lot of trouble. I am using Craftbukkit 1.12.2 since I don't really like 1.13, I have the following plugins installed:
    Essentials
    Essentials Antibuild
    Essentials Chat
    Essentials Spawn
    Essentials Protect
    Essentials GeoIP
    Essentials XXMP
    Multiverse-Core
    Multiverse-Portals
    WorldEdit
    WorldGuard

I have never had any problems with the server in running it on my own with my IP, (192.168.2.218), the port that I am using is 25565, the default port and the IP I am using is my default gateway, I have port forwarded it and it never works, I put the TCP and UDP options to, "Both", and the Internal and External port is of course, "25565", the IP is, "192.168.2.218", and the rule name is Server. I port forwarded it on Bell Home Hub 2000, and I have tried restarting the server properly, using different IPs, different ports, nothing seems to be working and I really just want to get past this one IMPOSSIBLE step. If anyone knows what is going on then please reach out to me I do not wish to stay like this forever. Again I am able to put in my IP and Port into the Server Address bar to join it myself but people on other wifi cant.

    Thanks so much,

    H3a7t8r0k3n! </3

That looks like an internal IP. You should be using the external IP instead, which you can easily find using this:
    https://ipchicken.com/

BTW: Since the port you are using is 25565, you don't need to include it in the server address bar, as that is the default port.

Thanks so much, and yes I know I don't have to include it I just thought maybe it would help a little more for people to understand, anyways thanks a lot for your input! But the thing is, when I use this IP which I have before I get The Failed To Bind Port Error, what should I do to fix this?

Where else would I put it?

Nowhere, that is the beauty of it. Server doesn't need to know its own IP.

So I just port forward the IP that I just got from searching up, "Whats my IP?', and it will work like magic? they can put in that IP? And it will somehow work?

Wait, I think I am starting to understand it! Ill test it out now and see if it works! Thanks a lot!

Filling the IP field in the server.properties is only needed when you have big complicated setups.

    Did you open your firewall?

    Well, open the firewall.
And you need to put in the machine ip in the router.

I was putting the machine IP in the router from the start, it just was never working, how do I open the firewall? So yeah I just put my IPv4 Address into the router but not into server properties, I restarted the server properly and the firewall is open
