Plugin Help server ownership check

I'm making website for server owners, and want add feature to confirm server ownership.
Is it some working techniques for it?
Now I think about personalized plugin download with verification code embedded inside, plugin will call verification endpoint on my site with this code on start.

Any other ideas how to check server ownership? Ideally plugin-less maybe server have some metadata props?

 

@mogadanez Only way I can think of is a plugin with a console only command.

The easiest way is probably like @bwfcwalshy pointed out to make a plugin which sends some data do it. If you just need to confirm that it's the right IP, maybe you could ask your users to ping your website using their server, and record what IP the ping came from.
