Alright, so it has been a while since I have run a server and I recently came back to it. A lot has changed but I figured out how to set up a bukkit server with the gui. I can play on my server using the host PC, however I can't find the server on my local network using the IP or local host. I've successfully port forwarded 25565, added exceptions to my firewall, even turned off the firewall to test. The server cannot be found. When I go on the computer that isn't the host and attempt to join, I get java exception connection refused, or java exception connection timed out. This PC isn't reaching the host because there is nothing saying attempted connection in the server logs. Any help would be much appreciated.
What Java exceptions do you get? If you said you port forwarded google whats my ip and then enter that one does it work?
@lordjohnaitest I get connection refused or the odd time connection timed out. The port said it was open. However my computer just recently crashed and I haven't fixed it yet
Hi, If its a local server you wont need to open any ports. If its hosting on the same machine you can use "localhost" for the IP. Seems like this could be a server setup issue. Check over your logs to see if anything is failing. Thomas Smith | PlugPayPlay
