If any developers would like to pick this up I would be extremely grateful! I will try to be as thorough as possible . If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Basic Idea: To provide players a way to breed their farm animals. How it would work: Perhaps if you got two animals of the same type within a certain proximity of each other they would have a chance at producing offspring. Something to consider would be either including compatibility or forking off of fullwall's excellent monster tamer plugin. This way you could easily control the proximity of the mobs through catch/release. Advanced Idea: When breeding sheep you could have chances of producing rare, colored wool offspring(with some colors being rarer than others). When breeding two of the same color you'd have an increased chance of producing that color. Perhaps other animals could produce rare offspring also. Eg: pigs that would drop more pork, cows that would produce 2 buckets of milk off 1 milking, chickens with higher egg drops. Reason for requesting this plugin: I would love a way for people on my server to be able to have animal farms. Also I think breeding would add another fun element to the game(random rare stuff is always addicting )! Side note: There is a great(and sadly non-bukkit) plugin called mo'creatures. It may be worth talking with the developer if you're unsure on how to go about doing this kind of plugin. Or alternately if you really want to make tons of people happy you could help the mo'creatures developer make it bukkit compatible . Thanks for reading <3
Sounds very interesting. I hope that I'll have the time to do this. The normal spawning rate would be very low and you could catch the animals with tamed wolfed. The only thing is that I don't know if it's easy to prevent them from despawning.
ty . I wasn't even aware there was a way to get mo'creatures working on bukkit without major issues. That's exciting! I still think my mod suggestion would be useful as it's aimed at something different. Also, I know some people aren't comfortable installing client side mods/messing with their .jar.
