Hello everyone, a few things. Whenever I go into a tutorial for Bukit servers, they say go to bukkit.org/downloads. And all it says is "Error. The requested page could not be found." It does this for most of the Bukit things I try to get to. Also, I'm looking for how to get Bukkit 1.8.1 . Or anyway to get the plugins that are 1.8.1, because it says for all of the plugins I want, "Supports 1.8.1". So please someone, tell me how to get these plugins on a server that works with them! Also maybe a reason why I simply can't go into the downloads page?

There is a way to get the 1.8 craftbukkit build, but unfortunately due to a dmca takedown, it is not going to be as easy as going to a download page and downloading it online. There are many tutorials online on how to do this.

Here is a tutorial I found by searching "How to get craftbukkit 1.8" on youtube(It was the first video that came up):

    Hope this helped.

    Thanks dude, just two questions.
1: What is a DCMA takedown?
2: Is 1.8 compatible with 1.8.1 because the good plugins are 1.8.1 :(

    1) DMCA is a legal process that resulted in making it impossible to host links to craftbukkit.jar online
    2) 1.8 is a generic name for "the 1.8.x series" .. Most revisions between 1.8.1 and higher versions are fairly small in terms of introducing breaking code, so if something works on 1.8.1 it will work the same on higher 1.8 versions (with the exception of some version-specific plugins that explicity look for version-labled classnames within the server files)

You also do NOT want to use any 1.8 version lower than the current one, because the 1.8.1 version has several critical exploits in them that most hack clients have been including tools to work with, which can give total control of commands, force-ops, and forced server crashing. Those exploits were not fully patched until the latest versions.
