Question What to use instead of Bukkit now?

I see servers running Minecraft 1.8.1 with loads of plugins, but what server software are they using as Bukkit is down and there is not a server version for 1.8.1 is there?

@This Luke Guy Spigot is decent, but I recommend using this when it is complete.

 

Can you tell us the pros and cons about trident vs spigot? you are saying that you recommend so tell us why.

 

When you follow the Spigot build process, you'll have BOTH a CraftBukkit 1.8 AND a Spigot 1.8. You can ignore the Spigot 1.8 and run CraftBukkit 1.8 if that's what you want.

 

It is built from scratch and not built around Mojang's server software like Bukkit is and its multithreaded which means it is likely faster than CraftBukkit servers, but will probably require more experience with concurrency then Bukkit currently does.
The only con I can think of is that we don't know how dedicated the team is yet since it is fairly new, but the commits are pretty consistent.

 

yeah i was on their site but its pretty empty (maybe because its so new) i hope it gets more attention. i will probably try it out when its ready!
