Need help with 1.8.1 bukkit development build

I am running a minecraft server, andI have been told that bukkit 1.8.1 has come out, so I looked it up and found this page.

This displays a list of development builds, at the top are 1.8.1 builds. When I click the top build, it links to a download (click the #1012). I click the download, and it says authentication required. It gives a message that says "the server repo.bukkit.org:80 requires a username and password. The server says: Sonatype Nexus Repository Manager." I have no clue what this means, I assumed I needed an account or something to get it, I'm super confused, please tell me if it is possible to get this bukkit 1.8.1, if it is, tell me how please. Also, I am new to the forums so sorry if I put this in a bad spot or if I am doing something wrong, thanks.

Those are Beta 1.8.1 Builds, not 1.8.1.

 

For now Bukkit is not going to release a Bukkit 1.8.1.

 

ah ok, thank you, also, I have been seeing a few servers with 1.8 blocks & bukkit anyway, do you know how they did this then?

 

They used a Protocol Hack.

they will be using 1.8 protocol hack with the combined power of a Spigot plugin called Carbon. either that or they are using a different type of server hack.

timtower aren't craftbukkit and bukkit the same thing?
