    Arena Setup Suggestion



    How to use
    1. Type /Fight and you will automatically be chosen a team (Red or Blue) and teleported to that team lounge.

    2. Punch a sign with the class you want to be, your name will be added to an available slot on the sign and the class items will appear in your inventory.

    3. Punch it again to remove your name (and the items) if you want to choose a different class

    4. Once your team is ready (Everyone has picked a class) punch the Iron Block, when both teams are ready you will be teleported inside the arena, BATTLE BEGINS!

    5. Players that die will be teleported to the spectator area to watch the rest of the fight

    6. When only one team is left standing everyone will be teleported out and the winning team announced! They get bragging rights!
    How to set up
    1. Download and put Fight.jar in your plugins directory

    2. Boot your server to generate the config.yml file in plugins/Fight directory

    3. Edit the config.yml file and add your own custom classes and rewards, here is an example:

      - Items must be written: <itemID>:<amount>
      - If no item amount is specified it will be 1
      - Seperate each item with a comma

    4. Add the permissions for users (fight.user) and admins (fight.admin)
      Permissions is REQUIRED

    5. Boot up your server and set the Waypoints by typing /Fight <command> (see commands below)

    6. Create a sign in each lounge for each class you have added.

      - The top line is the name of the class you have in config.yml - typed exactly (eg "Ranger" or "Tank")

      - The second line is unused so i put "------------" to make the class underlined
      - The bottom two lines are used for putting the players name on it.

    7. Each lounge needs an Iron Block. When it is punched and both teams are ready (chosen classes) the fight will begin.

    8. I recommend using WorldGuard or something to protect your arena from being destroyed.

    9. If you want destructible terrain inside the actual arena, you should use WorldEdit's blueprints commands to save and load the finished blueprint after each fight. I may try to incorporate this into Fight in the future.

      /Fight redlounge - Sets the Waypoint for the Red team lounge

      /Fight redspawn - Sets the Waypoint in the arena where Red team starts

      /Fight bluelounge - Sets the Waypoint for the Blue team lounge
      /Fight bluespawn - Sets the Waypoint in the arena where Blue team starts

      /Fight spectator - Sets the Waypoint where spectators go, and where players go when they die in the arena.

      /Fight exit - Sets the Waypoint players will go to when they type /Fight leave

    • User Commands

      /Fight - Automatically picks a team and warps you to that lounge
      /Fight watch - Warps your to the spectator area
      /Fight leave - Leaves the team your on, and the fight
    Permissions
    Very simple permissions structure
    • fight.admin - Allows you to set up the Waypoints
    • fight.user - Allows you to Fight!

    Just installed this today and my users love it! Thanks for making an awesome, fun plugin. I vote for the features on your suggestions list, all of those would make it that much better, so I'm looking forward to future updates!

    Well I'm not sure if I'm right here bu every time I try to do some things like /fight redspawn or any of the other I get this: [Fight] Invalid command. (503) Have I done something wrong?? I don't have !any! errors.

    Hey Dude I'm just telling you the idea I'm doing. Ok So create a big room, divide it by glass, or not. Set this room as both teams spawn point, and put both iron blocks and both sets of the classes, then when the team spawns they are all spawned in the same spot, then someone throws a switch behind them that opens a door full of monsters. The teams try to survive agaisnt the hoards of monsters. Pvp has to be turned off for it to be fair though.

    Thanks alot. I think I can only see one more bug left.

    Bug: If you /fight leave or d/c during a game in progress it will not register it as a death and therefore fight will still be in progress. Therefore I have to reload the plugin

    I think you should try to keep stats and tourney stuff in another plugin. Keep this plugin from bloating too much
    More ideas:
    More than one arena. Aka /fight area1 redlounge or similar
    /fight arenas: perhaps it will show u how many ppl are in the arena
    Finally is there an option perhaps so that /fight leave brings u to ur last position b4 /fight?

    Hi, i really want to get this, but i do not have permissions (or want to have it). Everything on my server is OP-based. I was wondering if you could add a feature that lets you play without permissions, just OP-based? thanks!

    I think it is a good idea to seperate the bets, leaderboards etc into an addon plugin.

    Looking at your list of other planned changes in the short term, I would still highly recommend that auto inventory removal and reinstatement is pretty important. I really think that people will use this plugin much more if they can just say to a player at any point, 'oh yeah, well are you going to pick a fight about it', then both players just type the command and they can resolve their differences on the spot. Currently things are a bit contrived where everybody has to find a chest, put all their stuff in it etc to coordinate a fight so apart from organised pvp sessions i dont think this plugin will get used as often as it could/should. I really like the idea of the arena being an immediate and fun mechanic for players to solve differences.

    Well done on all the work so far by the way, the registration fee mechanic is working great and you seemed to have closed all the farming loopholes.

    Edit: Noticing the previous post regards teleport back to original location after fight, this would be even better for players getting immediate satisfaction in a dispute and then both parties carrying on from exactly where they were before the argument started.

    I only want to give cash rewards, no items. So I added a cash amount and left item as "none", however it crashes the server at the end of a fight:

    I'm not sure if I have permissions set up wrong or what, but commands like /fight watch give me Invalid Command (503), while other commands give me internal errors.
    I have fight.user in the default group and fight.admin in the admins group

    We had the same problem. Tested with three players and it seemed to work. Later we had seven people and every time someone died, their client crashed. So the kill wasn't tracked, no winner crowned, and couldn't start another match without restarting server (people couldn't do a /fight or a /fight leave until we restarted server).

    Not sure why your clients are crashing - but i have fixed it (coming soon) so when players disconnect/logout/crash it wont stop games from being played and winners being seen. For all i know, this might have been what was crashing the clients so i will roll an update out soon for it.

    Error 503 means that the command is wrong or you do not have permissions. Make sure you have the latest Fight release and the latest Permissions too!

    I know why u crash. Its cuz you get teleported and then the server states omg you are flying. KICK!! and then bam client crashes

    Well on my plugin testing server i have server.properties allow-flight=true

    So if anyone has problems with clients crashing - Try setting allow-flight=true

    Please let me know if this fixes anything

    Ah, I tried setting it to '0' hoping that might do it and it still crashed. I'll try removing it entirely, but it would be great if it handled unexpected input a little more gracefully and especially if uncaught exceptions from this mod didn't crash the server. :D

    also re: the allow-flight, that is definitely what's doing it. For those of us who don't want to allow-flight=true, it would be great if it still worked. Several other teleport mods (like Tele++) work with allow-flight=false, maybe there's a different way you could move the users that won't make the server anti-flight checks mad?

    New Release (version 1.1.4)
    - Should fix all those client crashes.
    - When players dc/logout/crash the teams will be updated, and you will be able to continue fighting or starting another fight
    - Health refilled after a fight!

    Im glad we found the problem with that - Ill try my best to see why that does it
    Im the biggest noob with java - i dont try-catch any exceptions in my code! I really should - for good practice. I have only been using java for a week or so now

    Great plugin! I think you should add it so the arena you have in the video will generate in the world somewhere near your spawn.
