No Bukkit guys left to answer question.

Go to IRC, most likely there.

DogeDebugger I would love to answer the question if I knew the details, but all I know is this: the first Bukkit developer(s) (did EvilSeph start the entire project on his own at first?) took Mojang's Minecraft Server code (the vanilla server) and tied some usable functions to it. Those functions are what plugin developers use to make your server awesome.

They took the minecraftserver.jar code and put it into an eclipse project then made shortcuts in order to make a Server and API in 1

Nope nope nope. We're talking about the API, not Craftbukkit (the implementation).

Also, they made it with blood and sweat, and a lot of energy coming from Pizza. Ask Dinnerbone, he knows.

  12. mrCookieSlime Even in its slightly incorrect state, I did, the bold and underline was unnecessary :p

DogeDebugger I'm not even sure what sort of answer you're looking for. They saw what Minecraft could do, and made an API to support those functions... It's definitely a lot harder than it sounds, though.
