Hello guys I'm running my own bukkit server which always has ran just fine but lately some weird lagg is going on when you log into the server all runs correctly and just fine, no lagg at all.. but the longer your logged in the more laggy it gets.... then when you relog.. the lagg has dissapeared, but will faster than before come back and you need to relog again, and same story over and over. at some point u have almost constant lagg and relogging has little to none use at that point... i recently got a new laptop, which is MUCH better than the other one, but still have the same problem, so problem showed up at BOTH laptops, therefor i'm guessing the problem is inside the server somewhere.. may someone suggest, also with no plugins at all running at my server, the problem still excists. anyone know how i can fix this and what is causing this problem? thnx alot!
I am no expert, so I don't really know what I am talking about. But, I can think of a couple of possibilities. First, does the lag go away when you close minecraft then re open it? If so, I wouldn't worry about it too much and do that. Next, check what version of java you have, or just go and download the latest java to be safe. If neither of those help, then it is probably a server issue. Do you stop the server then start it again fairly often? If not, you should. Remote Toolkit provides a way for the server to automatically restart every few hours; that can keep things running nicer. Also, depending on what OS you are running the server on, the computer may need to be restarted frequently. Next, have you tried running the server without bukkit? (maybe try this step first lol) This will tell you if this is even a bukkit problem at all. If none of this helps, then there may be an actually problem that needs addressing.
The server I admin on also has this same problem, i restart the server after a while when the lag is really bad. This isn't just me, all the members on the server experience the same problem. I think it has to do with something with the newest bukkit recommended build and one of our plugins. This has never happened before in any other bukkit version

for plugins on my server i'm using: AfkBooter AuthMe Backup Citizens CraftBook(circuits, Common, Mechamisms, Vehicles, Craftscripts) DelayedStop Essentials GiveTo Izone Permissions Stargate Vanish(NoPickup) WorldEdit Stargate but as i said, even with all plugins removed, running a clean server, the lag still consist, so i'm not thinking it a plugin causing it.
