Hey everyone, this is the Z-Boot thread! Z-Boot is for newbies OR pros, and it is very user-friendly. It has a variety of features which will expand every day. Many of these are features you can't get from other launchers, such as disabling plugins and using custom plugins sets, launching from the desktop, and even backing up world files on /stop. If other launchers do add these features, please correct me. Posted below are all the features of the most recent version:

    • No need to go into the folder, this is designed to launch from the desktop (your Bukkit folder needs to be on the desktop, or in the same folder as Z-Boot)
    • Select RAM amount in gigs OR megs
    • Choose to launch the server WITH or WITHOUT plugins
    • Even use a custom set of plugins! Just make a folder and copy plugins into it!
    • Restart the server without using the dreaded /reload! Just stop it and enter "restart"!
    • For a quick launch, easily create presets using our preset creator! You can have as many as you want!
    • Choose the jar file you wish to use
    • Run multiple Servers on the same machine, each labeled whatever you wish
    • Choose to back up world files upon stopping server--no need for any plugin to do this!
    • Set your own colour scheme, preeetty colours!

Screenshots attached; however, those are of older versions.

Instructions: Download the file from DropBox and place it on your desktop, or up one folder from your Craftbukkit folder(s).

    Downloads (open)
    Previous versions no longer available.

Archive of all (newer than 3.5.2) versions - Archive

V8.0 - V8-0.bat - Huge update fixing many minor bugs, allowing colour scheming, and getting rid of the badly made Java Checker.

Big thanks go to RitzyCosmos for help with ideas and some of the code on later versions. I wouldn't have gotten this far without him!

I fear that your password protection might severely suffer from the fact that bypassing the authentification is possible by opening the file in a text-editor :)

Don't want to sound negative but:
    Which ones?

And you might want to include some screenshots...

Ok, thanks for being constructive (unlike some people.... :l )
I don't see where screenshots are entirely necessary, after all it's simply a cmd window. But I suppose it makes it look professional?

    Server Startup Presets
    Selecting Ram Amounts
    Restarting after /stop
directory and name of jar selection
A ton more than two lines of
    "java craftbukkit.jar
    pause"

those ARE included in some other launchers... :)

But still he did a VERY good job...[diamond]
I couldn't have done all that with just a batch file...

I haven't seen anything like this in other .bat launchers.

Not to mention, I helped Zander a lot with it.

MipCrab Access denied? When does it throw that error? Go into the file and change @ECHO OFF to @ECHO ON, then post a screenshot of when it gives you that error, or tell me a little bit of the code near that error.

Allow me to review the code, and ensure that this isn't my error....
Edit: Do these three things for me:
    1. Rename your Bukkit Saves folder to something without a space. This can cause errors.
    2. Re-Download V5 in just a moment (once it has a fixed tag on it in the original post)
    3. Tell me what version of windows you are using

Looks like you don't have write permissions to me...
OR you just aren't giving them to the batch...
are you the admin on the pc? -- try running as admin...

It doesn't matter as long as the server folder is given... :)

Hey everyone! Show your support by liking the OP.

I need suggestions as to where to go from here. What would YOU like to see in a launcher? If you can dream it, I can (probably?) do it!

From here on out, I'll compile a neat log of all the errors I encounter and their fixes as reference for future Batch prodigies.

j_selby Oh... sorry lol. I'd love to learn bash and recreate this! But that would take some time :p

  21. ZanderMan9 I like it. (Adding colors isn't very hard! Just use the "color" command, it uses the same numbers/letters as the bukkit colors, for instance: color 3b gives you a dark-blue background and cyan text)

Datdenkikniet Yes, I know it is a very simple command, but the thing is, it will change the whole console. Adding color 0c for red and 0a for green every time there is an error or an error ends is a pain. It isn't so much an issue of complication, just time that I could better use :)
Also, thank you for the positive feedback! Hopefully there will be a big update soon. I've got some ideas in the works :)

  23. aha, like that

  25. ZanderMan9 why its so hard to make the errors work :>

I mean that I'd have to have the command "color 0c" every single time there is an error, to show that it is an error, and then turn it green again every time the error is corrected.

You meant just using the color command once, I think? Eh, I may do that. 0f makes it much better looking than the default (o7 or 08 I think...).

After seeing a lot of issues with java and its various versions, I've decided to add a feature that will automatically select the best version of java, going from java 7 64-bit (ideal) to java 6 32-bit (not ideal).

Holy crap. First try, the new code worked. Wow. That's a new one on me!
Anyway, the above has been implemented! This is a big deal for people having issues with java versions.
