pex not working or other issue

I use pex. and for some reason no chat prefixes come up in chat but they come in with the colors in console.

Do you have a chat plugin? PEX does not handle chat prefixes all by itself, it needs a chat plugin to talk to.

 

ya i do im using royal chat right now and it looks like this if i say something.
<carbuilder> <--all in white
You feel lonely. <--in gray i have no idea what that is
[President]carbuilder> <-- looks the way i want

It looks like the latest version of RoyalChat was made for Minecraft 1.2.5. Version changes don't usually cause chat plugins to break, but it is still a possibility. Let's try to rule everything else out first though.

Do a quick /plugins check to make sure that everything is green and working. It is possible that you have an error in one of your config files which could be making one of your plugins fail to run properly.

Which version of PEX are you using? As of version 1.22, they changed where the prefixes go in the permissions file. Now they are under the options section. So check which version you've got and whether you've got your file set up correctly.

Next, do you have any other chat plugins that might be overriding RoyalChat? For example, if you have Essentials on your server, do you also have the EssentialsChat.jar file installed? If so, your Essentials config might be taking over your chat settings.

This looks like it's coming from another plugin. Not sure which, but you could probably figure it out by going through your plugin list.

And this makes me think the problem is most likely with your chat plugin/possible plugin conflicts, not your permissions plugin. Make sure you only have one permissions plugin installed at a time, because having both of them on there might cause additional problems.
