another uuid plugin

in 1.8, i will be able to insult another player, making them have a permanent grudge against me, then i can just change my name, and they will never know that i am the same person

one solution to this is installing a plugin that kicks you if you change your name.


another solution is this idea:
my idea is that when a player logs in, the plugin will save their name and uuid.

if they change their name, instead of blocking them from logging in,
the plugin will make the server think that it is the same name,

basically what i mean is once i change my name,
other players on a server with this plugin will still see my old name.


this is similar to how i can login with the name robrobk, use the command /nick steve, and everything will look like i logged in with the name steve

 

robrobk So, you want a plugin that gives you a nickname of your old name before it was changed?

For example, someone on your server logs in as CoolBoi2843

They change their name to Swagalicious321

On your server, their name will still be CoolBoi2843.

 

robrobk While not that likely to happen by accident (depending on the server size) there can easily be the following situation:

Player A logs into the server, saving his name as A
A changes his name to B, but still appears as A on your server
New player comes along and chooses to name his account A. Mojang allows this because there is no current A
The new A logs into your server. You now have two players called A (the original and the new)

robrobk I suppose you could adjust the idea so that it displays their new name & their original name or something, but maybe that would be too messy.
