hi i have recently started to start a minecraft server and it was fine. i downloded bukkit and set it up and when i run the server my ip dosent work for other players i can do localhost and it works. i know it is not a port forwarding issue. something that might help is that my console when it starts up it says "Starting minecraft server on *:25565" i dont know if its suppose to do that but i dont think it is PLEASE HELP
Yes, when you portforward, if you do it correctly, in the server.properties, leave the ip area blank so that in the console it says "Starting minecraft server on *:YOURPORT" If people can't connect make sure your giving them the right ip address. The one to give people is your "external" ip address. To find it out simply go to this link: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ and its in big letters at the top. That is the ip you need to give people.
