My server is just randomly stopping itself. It happens multiple times a day. There are no console errors, and nothing I see in the server logs that indicates anyone doing anything malicious.

It will then give me a random error from a plugin. It's displayed with mcMMO, CommandHelper, and others. I don't know if it's related to the crash/stop or not.

    Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

    Examples:
    mcMMO: http://paste.thezomg.com/6844/18146135/
    Orebfuscator: http://paste.thezomg.com/6845/18216135/

I do not THINK this problem is related to these plugins. I also have a 20gb heap just for minecraft. We will have 95%+ free memory still available when this suddenly happens out of nowhere.

If anyone else is experiencing this and/or has fixed the issue, please let me know.
I am currently running on the cb 1.4.6-R0.4

    Thanks,
    Smashbox.

I've been having the same problem since 1.6.4. Server randomly shuts down, no error logs to indicate why it would do something like that. Then again I've been on bukkit dev builds only for a while so that might just be the price of bleeding edge.

If /mem shows a lot of memory still free in-game, you might want to look at what your memory is doing outside the game. Its quite possible its a memory leak. If so, a reboot of the server should fix it for a while (shouldn't happen immediately after reboot).

If you can isolate the problem to either minecraft itself (doubt it) or a plugin (most-likely), you can better determine how to resolve the situation.

Also, are you running this server on Windows, Linux or Mac? How often do you reboot the machine?
