Hello, I have just recently started making plugins and I am in the process of making my one. When I wanted to post it and put it to Planning, I then saw that it requires a License. I am not sure how to use these. I selected GNU General Public License Version 3 and have a .txt file of the License in my Plugin and on my desktop. Am I doing this correctly? If not, What do I do? If I am in the wrong topic, forgive me. Please respond ASAP, Thanks

That most likely didn't help me at all. A license is just a protection for your plugin, from someone to take it and claim it as their own. (Depending on the license you use). If you want your plugin to be fully privately owned (No one can claim it as theirs) just use the license "All Rights Reserved". You do not need to include this in your plugin, but you can if you wish. It won't hurt anything.

Thank you so much! The first answer, like you said, didn't really solve my problem, it educated me on Licenses but it didn't tell what to do with them. Again Thanks!

That's not entirely true. Other licenses state you must include the original in your product if you modify it, etc. That one just bans anybody from modifying it at all (even if you quit bukkit development and in the future somebody wants to update your plugin).

    http://choosealicense.com is a great place.

If you're posting your plugin on BukkitDev then you should do some sort of open source :)
