Hi! I made a bukkit server and port-forwarded it, but none of my friends can connect. I tried connecting through a virtual computer, and i could somehow connect. Any ideas?

rodrick162 Not sure you're allowed to post these kinda things here. Necrodoom
Also, don't think poll was needed lmao.

Try searching around how to port-forward with your router, and make sure you are correctly doing it.

Ensure no firewalls are blocking access to port 25565, and that you have correctly forwarded the port to your computer's local IPv4 address. If you're on Windows, type ipconfig in command prompt to find your IPv4, if on Mac/Linux type ifconfig. Hope I was able to help :)

danjb2000 MegaNarwhal I know for certain I port-forwarded it correctly. Could it be a configuration file?

What ip did you give them? Do you have static or dynamic ip?

In bukkit config you need to put ip of your computer (cmd then ipconfig to see it)
But if you give them the same ip they won't be able to join since it needs to go to your modem first then pc.

What you need to do is to go to Google, type my ip, and give them that address ip.
If you have dynamic ip, ip will be different if modem is restarted or by time, then you will need to check your new up every time and give them the new one. Unless you go to any free website that will 'change you up to static' - I will be doing it with my own server soon so if you need help pm me.

Note: on your machine you can use both ip addresses since it will be treated as local connection

I have a dynamic IP, but i check that its the right one when I give it to them. I actually seem to have two IP adresses, one is for my Virtualbox and the other is for my computer. I am really confused, so ill KIT with you. PS Ive also tried having them add ':25565' at the end but it still doesnt work.

    I made the poll.

    bukkit config: http://pastebin.com/n526YVKq
i am not comfortable sharing my ip address, but i have forwarded (I assure you) the correct IPs on TCP and UCP, and I forwarded it to my computer (where my server is hosted).

Can they see your server when they add your ip?

If not it wrongly forwarded or you put wrong ip in server config

Add two addresses to your Minecraft, one with ip of your computer and one with ip of your internet.

Tell me if both are working or only one

Ohh, and make sure you still have the same internet up addresses as you gave them

That's why I told you to show me photo of it as it would be faster.
