Solved Essentials resetting by itself!!!

I have configured the config.yml for essentials 5 times, and every time I run the server it resets itself, so i have to configure THE WHOLE THING AGAIN!!! PLS help!!!

 

rodrick162 Post the essentials configuration file (modified). This happens when essentials thinks you configured something wrong and just generates a new configuration file.

 

Ok, ill reconfigure it, then post it on paste-bin, and could you fix any mistakes on there? this is my first server and i'm practically handicapped at this.

 

Use notepad++ (windows) or text wrangler (mac) to help with formatting and spacing. It makes everything really easy and helps avoid errors.

just delete the Essentials folder and try it for 1 more and final time

 

Wont help if he doesnt know how he breaks it.

rodrick162 Delete lines 307-308, you duplicated setting, try again.

Error at line 535, not sure why you placed setting on the same line.

 

it's because you ar pressing the TAB button, try to remove spaces, i was having the same problem in the past it's very simple to fix it.

 

I didn't add any spaces, i use notepad (not ++ because it doesn't work on my computer) so I used the template given by default which has glitched "Enters" which don't show up and its all one smushed paragraph.

rodrick162 Its recommended you get a proper editor for YML files. What is your operating system?

 

yeah try Notepad ++ if you are not currently using it, it's awesome.

 

I have windows 7 Ultimate

 

notepad++ would work fine then. Failing that, try wordpad (not word)
