Since Minecraft 1.7.2 was released on October 25th we've been putting in a ridiculous amount of work non-stop towards a CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.7.2 and I am happy to finally be able to announce that we now have development builds available. We strongly suggest that you only use this build if you would like to help us get a Beta build out sooner and are experienced with using unsupported development builds.

WARNING: Minecraft 1.7.2 is an update that requires clients to update before being able to connect.

    What is a Development Build?
A Development build is provided AS IS and COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED. You should only be running these builds if you are completely aware of how to properly make use of them. Support requests of ANY KIND will be removed without warning. If you have to ask where or how to get the development build, you should NOT be running it and posts of that nature will be deleted.

Will plugins break with this build?
Minecraft 1.7 is one of the most involved updates to date, with Mojang having touched a reported ~220k+ lines of code. As a result, a significant amount of the code base has shifted making it difficult to ensure any stability with regards to our API. That being said, it is difficult to determine if plugins will be breaking with our 1.7.2 update and the state of the API in our earlier development builds should NOT be relied upon in any way.

    Known Issues:
    • None

As for the plugins breaking. Only 2/74 for me. (2 servers) protocollib is one of them. for the rest all plugins that are based on that like TagAPI. And 2 other plugins giving errors and not completely working.. 1/37 is still amazing

Its amazing how the Dev's can create such a soon, yet a very stable 1.7.2 Alpa for bukkit. Everything runs smooth with craftbukkit and 2 of my 47 plugins broke with this update. ( Citizens and Sentry ). I will be posting tickets in the near future.

For noobs who do not know what unsupported means:
Only the staff will find bugs, add the rest of the features, because they are the only experts at the naming system.
Basically, this build is made by "independent" people.

I dont have a leaky.bukkit.org account, so ill just list my bug here.

    Bug:
Players can not click on links in-game. I use buycraft, and I am losing about 20% of profit, because players do not want to type out the url. They want to just click the url.

Check single player/Vanilla server. Links are not clickable there either, its not a Bukkit bug.

Don't know if this was patched or not though:
When the console does the /say command, it spams with 4 of the messages, instead of just one.
    Example:
    Code:java
    1.
    2. say Welcome to my server!
    3.

    Player sees:
    Welcome to my server!
    Welcome to my server!
    Welcome to my server!
    Welcome to my server!

Oh, I thought bukkit fixes bugs though, even when it comes from the vanilla server.

No bukkit replicates vanilla as close as possible, the only bugs they Could fix is security threats and I think it only happened once.

Cannot reproduce that bug. Sounds like a plugin issue.

Any way to report issues to help ?

I've a strange problem, after a teleport (often) the player can freeze and his screen "shake", cant play and need to disconnect/reconnect to solve.

This bug can occurs during "fly" in gamemode 1 too or after get damaged.

Other thing, i've made a plugin to protect the item in an item frame, cancel the leftclick interact on item frame, with 1.6.4 work, with 1.7.2 and that release the left click on this doesn't send any event and the item bump out of the frame.

    That's not what unsupported means.
Unsupported means the builds are created purely for testing purposes. If you'd like to report bugs, add in missing features, or fix the reported bugs, you are fully free to do so. But you're not going to get support with the build from the community, because it's not meant for running in a production environment.

Ok, so, all they do, is edit the vanilla server, to allow plugins, and add security protection? Whats the point of the last 1.7.2 dev builds? They weren't for security fixes.

BUG no 1: /tellraw doesn't work in this build :(

BUG no 2: Ex: When doing /pl the plugin names continue to the next line even if unfinished

I know you did a great job! Keep up the work!

When is the first stable build expected to be released? Just a shot, no exact day/week.

They don't add security protection... That was just 1 time a year or so again.

Mostly they what they fix is stuff that aren't working on the bukkit end, they don't fix minecraft bugs. If you look at them, you'll see it's fixes to make plugins or normal features work, like tab list, etc.

The /list command also breaks-apart player names at the end of the line.

I guess clickable URLs is an Essentials feature, so it's an Essentials problem?
