   me and a friend run a server and he runs the server from his computer , im just wondering if there is some sort of way i can get access to the console and be able to edit the files like adding new plugins or restarting the server , he is busy alot so he doesnt get much chance to update the server files and stuff .

   Go look up a FTP server program, have him install it and forward the ports, then download Filezilla.
