We had some script kiddies, using admin accounts, online at our server ... We had to use a backup, luckily the were to stupid to do some serious damage then later some others joined ... dinnerbone, notch and some of our admins (who werent even online) ... they warned us that there is a fresh Bukkit exploit which allows people to use any nick they want
Sounds like the only "Script Kiddie" here is you. Considering you asked for help on a forum where offline mode help is not supported.
Are you really not aware of the recent auth exploit? http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/psa-server-exploit-discovered-update-immediately/
get your facts straight before you post something ther IS an exploit .. and crafters-united was and will be always for legit players only! @NK thank you for the information ... the server is updated now
Thank you, sorry for the wrong section ... And cuz this is a major bug i think this should be on the frontpage ... to urge people to upgrade (or atleast to warn them)
Actually no, I wasn't aware. Luckily, it doesn't appear that my server was targeted (a benefit of being unpopular ). This seems serious enough, I don't understand why the Craftbukkit folks haven't immediately made the fixed development release the official beta release, so people running beta builds would know to update.
They did, but they deleted Github comments and any links to it. They don't want to draw attention to it, because you know, the people who will use it don't already have tons of copies and are linking each other to it 24/7 while server owners aren't informed.
