  1. Hello,

I've made a thousand search on the forum before without finding anything...

I think one day I saw a plugin wich do this, is it true ?

I want to prevent melons, trees, weat... from growing without the sunlight.

Is there any plugin to do this ?

    Thanks in advance.

Don't they already need light to grow?

If I'm unerdstanding you correct, search in your essentials config.yml folder. There's an option there I'm pretty sure. If I'm understanding right.

  4. They need light, but not sunlight !

I've made a search on "light", "sun", "farm" and "grow" in the Essentials/config.yml and nothing...

I think I understand now, you only want the plants to grow during the daytime. I don't think is possible. How it works is you have a level 1, 2, 3 and I think 4 light on Minecraft. 1 is the darkest, and 4 is the brightest. I think it's required to have level 3 for most plants to grow in Minecraft. It's on a timer, that every 5 minutes(appx) the light changes from 1, to 4. (I think that's it.) Since the plants are like this, it wouldn't be a plugin, you'd have to recode the game to match this problem. Making it only possible during the correct spot on the timer.

PS: This was the last that I knew of how it works. I don't know if they changed it for the 1.6 update. This is the best answer I can personally give, and I believe it's pretty accurate.

dimesnionn er, light in minecraft goes from 0 (pitch black) to 15 (full sunlight, lava blocks, glowstone) not sure what is this cycle you talked about (day night cycle?) but this has been the behavior since infdev.

Is it really 0-15? I read somewhere(Can't remember where), that it was 0-4. This day/night cycle is just telling minecraft to move from dark to sunlight. You see the moon and sun, but that's just so you know the time of day. It's not actually coming from the moon or sun, it's just generated by the game itself. Thanks for clearing up the 0-15 thing though.
