People Can't Connect to My Server

Hello, I have a server that was fully functional. The Ports are set up correctly, the firewall is down, but people can't connect. People were able to get on yesterday, but then, the server closed on them, and now they can't get on. Any ideas on how to fix this? Please help.

 

Please be sure Windows Firewall isn't up.
Also, make sure there's a port 25565 exception in your firewall.
I can't recall if I asked, but do you have anything set in server-ip=?

 

No, the firewall was down, as well as the exception for the 25565, and there is nothing in the server ip.

 

start your server and then go here http://ping.eu/port-chk/ put in your ip and port it will check if its open

It says its not open but I am running the server and everything is set up the way it is supposed to be.

 

if its not open then you have to port forward again and make sure that you open the port and thats its pointed to the computer the server is on it should be like 192.168.1. (your server computer)

also here pick your router from the list and keep going into the subs of your make and model and it will give you proper istructions for your router

I'm having the same problem and I port forwarded perfect like it has worked for a long time and now it's not ever since the new bukkit? Any suggestions?

 

recheck your ip all ips from a isp are on a renting basis at any time your isp can change your ip

also if you ever unpluged your ethernet cord and pluged it back in the router can assign a different number then you would need to do the ipconfig from cmd from the server comp to find your comp number assigned by the router and report forward

if your server is running and you did the port forward check and it says its closed
you have to port forward you might think you did it right but there has to be something you over looked either your not on 25565 or your not porting to the right comp where the server is on and what sucks no one can fix this but you

Ok let me say what happened. I have stopped the server, made sure my ports were correct, and turned off the firewall, but it still didn't work.....

Ok, I figured it out. I went to ip chicken, and realized that my ip had changed. That was it! People were able to join and everything!! Thanks for you help everybody, I really appreciate it!!!

please help I followed each of this steps, I readed everything here. AND still the same thing, my port still closed, I don't know what is happening. Even I went to ip chicken and still doesn't work. Help please, I realy apreciate if you help me.

 

Have you set up a static IP? There probably will be tutorials on Youtube or Google.

 

To make the dynamic ip address static,make a no-ip IP Adress

You Diddnt Fill In Your Server Ip

 

if i do then i cant go to my server.thats not important.important is why my friends cant go to my server when go they says that can reach server.

 

It's important that you fill in your server's IP in the server.properties.

Are you using localhost after you enter your IP? If so, try using the IP...

Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I have setup a Bukkit server too but when i check port forwarding it says it open but not sure if anyone is able to connect. Can someone PM me and i will give ip for them to try.
