I got my Ip from 3 different sites all telling me the same thing, when I put it in the IP I cant connect and neither can my friends. Yes the server ip in properties is blank. Also it DOES work when I use 192.168.1.125 but only for me, please help.

    Are your ports forwarded?

    Yes

Any 192.168.xxx.xxx IPs are within network, thus they are innacurate. Port 25565 needs to be forwarded on UDP/TDP which can be done in the control panel of your router. (192.168.1.1)

Port forwarded 2 days ago :/ Also that's what I said, the 192.168.XXXXX is what only lets me on, but I port forwarded and my actual ip address from ipchicken and whatsmyip doesn't work.

Error: I could not see your service on 216.19.41.240 on port (25565)
    Reason: Connection timed out

Also before when I was hosting a vanilla server, it worked perfectly, would I have to delete that?

Your internal IP may have changed. Was your server running when you tried checking for 25565?

Which server? The 192.168.xxx? Or my vanilla one? Because the 192 was working fine but as I said only for me, the other one has never worked for bukkit, as soon as I installed it and tried it say cannot connect.

If you post a screenshot of your router's port forwarding config, maybe we'll spot something wrong.

Shoopie, it's best to start your own thread. Having said that, can you make the 'Source IP' field blank?

Robosmasher303 , lol, this thread is rough...

    192.168.*.* = LAN IP

You need to give people your WAN or External or ISP IP..
You find out what your External IP is by visiting this site..
    http://www.whatismyip.com/
I would also recomend going to http://www.noip.com/
And get the DUC (Dynamic Update Client)
That way you can have people connect to: minecraftservername.no-ip.com VS Your.Ip.Here.blah:porthere

Let me know if you need any more help.

I'm well aware that the 192.168 is a LAN ip, thought I made that clear, I also thought I made it clear that I got my actual ip from whatsmyip before (that could sound rude it wasn't ment that way). For the noip thing
is there anything special I need to do or does it just work after a make it?

Robosmasher303 , Its all good man, I miss understood :p

You just need to register, and create a DNS, then log into your DUC on your Windows machine.

Gahhruuba, Alright thanks. I still have a few questions (sorry) Im using this computer to run the server, and another to port forward (not the first time) because this computer doesn't have administrator access, would that make a difference? Also how would I log into my DUC? and does it require administrator access? Once again sorry for all the questions, im really dumb when it comes to this stuff :/

    EDIT:
Ok so I think I found the DNS thing, I have a question. Since it cost money (more money then I have to spare) And all it say is, is a domain, would it work if I already have a domin with another site? (long story short I was an idiot and thought it was a minecraft server and bought it)

Robosmasher303 Could I per chance get the brand and model of your Router? I could help better that way.
Mine is a Netgear WGT624v4, here's how mine would look.[IMG]

Do you per chance know how to get into the panel? If not, and you don't mind, I could help you via Teamviewer?

Yes, I know how to get to it.

Alright, get into it, look for "Attached Devices" or "Connected Devices", note the IP it gives of the server device, then go to "Port Forwarding", and check if the forward is actually correctly pointed to the correct IP of the internal device.
My attached devices is like this:[IMG]
And because my server is on 192.168.1.8, my Port Forwarding looks like this:
[IMG]Then boot your server and try port 25565 via canyouseeme.

I did this before, but I did it again just in case. On canyouseeme all I get it this every time.

Error: I could not see your service on 216.19.41.240 on port (25565)
    Reason: Connection timed out

Ok hold on, I went into cmd on THIS computer and I got a different IPv4, I put that in and now I got this.

Success: I can see your service on xxx.xxx.xx.xxx (rather not have everyone know) on port (25565)
Your ISP is not blocking port 25565

Does this mean if I run the server on my other computer it should work?

It worked! Thanks so much to everyone who helped, and feel free to check out the server at robocraft.no-ip.biz (its not done yet)

I take it back :/ one of my computers says the last digits of the IPv4 are 125, the other one says 124 I used the 124 and it worked for about 3 seconds, what do I do?!?

Alright now A server is running, but its not my bukkit server, the 192.168 works for my bukkit, but when I use the other IP it doesn't work, and when I don't run bukkit the server is still up, this is so frustrating!

    Darky Hello?

To be honest, I had the same problem, but I fixed it.
The IPv4 is set to change every day (or other day). All you need to do is switch it off. Remember the IP that's changed (for me, it only changed the last number) and edit on your router's port forward. Your IP should be the same and all should be dandy!
