Ideal plugins for a small survival server

Can anyone suggest any plugins - mainly lore friendly, that can spice up the server i run with 2 mates of mine. I'm looking for plugins that add to the mechanics of the game, like BloodMoon, but keep the survival aspects, and nice immersion features like Chairs (lets you sit down) and particularly plugins that keep exploration fresh etc

 

i like craftbook(falsebook) it adds functionality to the game. Gates, lifts(elevators), wireless redstone, IC's and so much more. Also, world edit and world guard are a good combo. world edit allows for easy building, kinda like photoshop for minecraft. world guard protects areas or flags them. lastly, mcmmo allows for skills. you can right click with your sword and do a bit more damage using the sword skill. or use the axe and chop down a tree all at once. that is just my two cents.

 

Cheers, craftbook and mcmmo look awesome. I use worldguard and worldedit a lot on my creative server but chose not to use them on my survival one. Thought it would be cheating do you know of any others?

 

Try Lockette for chest/door protection and ChestShop with iConomy(out dated, but works perfectly and it looks like they are coming back now!) if you want to add an economy system to it.

 

i like lockette for simple chest locking, problems arise with it though. you get a player that doesnt come back and their chest/doors are all that remains of a griefed house. you can also use grief prevention. it creates a small area around a placed chest to keep users from griefing private houses. you an set a time limit on grief prevention so if a user does leave in X ammount of days the claim will remove itself.

 

not too concerned about griefing on the server, its just a hamachi-run one and we all know how annoying griefing is as players. Already have a plugin for tnt-creeper griefing and all of our chests are just ones we all use and keep stuff in

anyone know any mods that make exploration a bit tougher and a bit more interesting?

tougher ? hmmm Hardcore Plugin, make you can't place block in air XD

 

Interesting challenge for the players XD Took me a minute to figure out how they would be able to place blocks.

It also sparked an idea for me where players cant breath air and haft to live in the water like fish. XD
