Faking Server Version, Possible Hack-Fix?

    Now would it be possible to fake the server version sent at login and see if it provides a temporary fix without offering new features? Has anyone considered using this trick to get around the basic zero day denial of service caused by updates? (Yes silly wording) Anyways going to test this myself but other people should research this in the future.

    You crash upon connecting, at least by quickly just faking the version number. It lets you in but you crash, it however lets the one with the version same as server connect without a prob.
