Snapshot 13w16a and New Launcher

I was just seeing this:

And i was wondering what effect will this have on Bukkit (Like the new launcher)?

 

It's a client launcher. What effect could it have on a server?

 

I don't know, perhaps it can breake things, the way it connects with the server etc.
If the client get some "ground rules" it follows then some plugins might not work?
(Depends on how they code it)

 

its not going to be able to connect to a 1.5 server. it will return an "outdated server" error. no issue here.

A client launcher doesn't connect with the server, it just launches the client (logically).

The client can stay the same even if the launcher changes.
