    Hi,
I am sure I am not the only server owner getting this error. I get the error only when certain players join and then it crashes the server. I did find a quick fix which is I go into my main world folder and delete that players .dat then they can get on just fine BUT how do I fix this so that it stops happening? Each time I have to stop server, delete .dat, restart server.

Try removing your map and start your server and see if it's gonna have some error.

If there's non, your map is corrupted.

I have the same issue since yesterday but only at specific locations on the map. i fear that somehow there were chunkerrors generated, or some of the new block are broken.
Most locations are fine so i'm trying to find out what exactly broke those other chunks.
Since they seem to be in near the center of our creation i hope to find anything to save them/ keep the damage minimal.

Edit: I've found the broken chunk and we were able to fix it using McEdit.

First i found the broken chunk by moving around on the server and watching where it crashed.
I had a petty strong hint thanks to dynmap, it had shown some sort of hole in the ground next to one of our projects.
We downloaded the map and watched it with mcedit (chunk view), and there we could see, that the broken chunk was missing.
We then deleted said chunk and uploaded the fixed region file (uploading the whole world would have taken days).
The chunk got generated again and it was fixed.

i used Minecraft map viewer and dungeon finder to verify the broken chunk. It is an online tool that can be used to get a 3D view on worlds region files.

(Dramatisation but you could actually see a hole in the region file)
