    First , Hello!
I want to say that my Bukkit Server is lagging very much even when there are not any players.(about 2 TPS).
Recently Ive upgraded my OS to Windows 8 Pro (64 bits) and I noticed that Bukkit its not working well. I will tell you now my system properties :
    - Pentium i3 Dual Core CPU 2.80 GHz
    - 4 GB DDR3 RAM
    - Asus EAH5670 video card (1 GB)
    ---------------------------------------------
    - Java 7 update 11 (64 and 32 bits)
    - Latest Bukkit 1.4.6-R0.4 build 2595
    - I dont have any plugins fro my Bukkit
    - And my lauching parameters for it are :

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms2048M -Xmx2048M -jar craftbukkit.jar
    PAUSE

I need to say two more things. (Hope they help)
    1. Before Windows 8 I had a Windows 7 and Bukkit worked fine with it.
    2. The Vanilla Minecraft Server form minecraft.net works fine ! (no lag at all)

I hope that you will solve this problem. And sorry if this thread its not in the right place.(Im new here)
    Sorry for my bad English.

Did you use the 1.4.6-R0.4 2595 build on Windows 7 with no problems?

You could try downgrading to the latest Beta build

No, because the update appeared today ; and i tried downgrading but the lag its still there .

Every windows update = more ram used by windows = less ram for java = laggy server

Your CPU is pretty weak to be hosting a minecraft server. Also if you are running this on the same computer as you are playing minecraft on, that will use more resources.

Yeah, although you can argue all day about instruction sets, with most CPU's being relatively modern now, minecraft primarily loves high clocks. The higher the CPU clock, the better. Its as simple as that. With ample memory reserves, of course. The reason I'm saying this is because if you plan on getting a better server, concentrate on the clock speed, not some octacore latest-gen beast. Those are best left for fileserver duties.

.... If you read more carefully you would noticed that I sad that Bukkit in Windows 7 worked fine (no lag ; 20 TPS on server) with the same system configuration !!! ... And another thing !! The Vanilla Minecraft Server is working perfectly at this moment!!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im hosting a server for only 5 players ! Not more! Playing with friends :)

if you edited bukkit.yml, and changed "autosave: 1" then you get low tps.If so change to "autosave: true".
