If you go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and enter the minecraft port (25565), can it connect? If it cannot, then you have not port forwarded correctly or a firewall is still blocking it.

Start the server and then go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ again and try it. It will not work if the server is not running. If it still cannot connect, then it is a port forwarding or firewall issue.

you have no IP inputted to your server.properties file. you must find by typing "ipconfig" in cmd if you are windows

If you do "ipconfig" in cmd as Sparten368 recommended, does it give you the IP you port forwarded with? (192.168.0.100)

You leave the ip spot blank, but people connect with the ip you port forwarded with.

If you place an ip in that spot your console will pop up with the error could not bind to port.

What is the IP you get from running "ipconfig" in cmd? If you don't know which one it is, just paste the entire output.

Did you save the router settings? Make sure to disable any firewalls (or allow minecraft to go through)? Other than that I can't think of anything else.

I may be off on this, but from what I assume is your port forwarding configuration image earlier in post #3 it looks like you set TCP port 25565 to the application Minecraft, and set UDP port 25565 to the IP 192.168.0.100

Shouldnt you be setting the TCP port 25565 to forward to the IP 192.168.0.100 also?

You might be on to something. I was somewhat confused by those router settings before, but I think I understand it now. Uhmazin, try this out and see if it does anything

Also, for what its worth, generally you can just leave the server.properties server-ip= field blank. Leaving it blank will allow Minecraft to bind to all available IPs your computer is currently assigned(both with static IP configurations and DHCP assigned ones). That field is more needed if you are running multiple Minecraft server instances on the same system. You can set each one to run on a single IP address(not the same IP) and then each instance can run on the standard 25565 port without conflicting(since they are all running on different IP addresses).

As an update to this thread, I did attempt to assist Uhmazin with his port forwarding issues. As a result, it was discovered he was using a DHCP address over WiFi connection to his router, a DLink DIR-815 model. This router cannot perform port forwarding unless it is connected via network cable, and the computer attached utilizing a static IP address. Once this was explained to him he promptly called me an "Advertiser" meaning that he assumed I would just magically make it work, which I never stated. I said I would try to help him get it working. Unfortunately without setting up a proper physical network there is nothing further that can be done to help him. Also, his ungracious and quite rude attitude after my spending an hour with him in a join.me session assisting probably does not warrant anyone else wasting their time with him either.

As a side note to all others trying to port forward, there are many models of the DLink routers that advertise being able to port forward and do a very terrible job of it. The best option if your going to do this in many cases is to either get a router that is known to work well with port forwarding, or upgrade the routers firmware to something like DD-WRT.
