Lag is off the hook... either your computer is WAY too slow for minecraft, or your internet connection is way too slow.

    or both.

I don't think my computer is slow. It had 4gb of ram. Maybe it is my internet. I have 1-2mbps service. Which really runs at .5mbps to 1.5mbps. I plan on upgrading to either 4mbps or 6mbps. Is my interent to slow?

Run a speed test, and tell us the results of your download & upload speeds.

Regarding upgrading your internet, its not something you can do, nor is it easy. You'll have to ask a parent to contact your ISP. This probably cant be done, as it all depends on how far you are from your local exchange.

Not only is your internet too slow, 4GB of ram to share for a server / OS / minecraft / other applications is cutting it close too. As far as your internet, it's really slow for even browsing the web let alone running a server. I have 30mbps download / 20mbps upload and my internet is considered bad compared to the "standard" of 100mbps connection or whatever.

    Anyways, http://canihostaminecraftserver.com.

Your bet off looking for a host in my opinion, I would personally rent a dedicated server, Because SSH is far more empowering to a experienced owner then any minecraft control panel, and I'm not to positive but most server hosts probably don't allow you SSH access.

Upgrading my internet is really not that hard. All it takes is a phone call to my provider. Yes I have told my dad and he is thinkin about it. We wanted to upgrade our internet anyways. Here are 3 results for speedtest.net: 1. Download 0.9mbps Upload 0.46mbps. 2. Download 1.04mbps upload 0.48mbps. 3. Download 1.08 upload 0.44. I have gotten upload speeds of 1mbps before.

Yeah that's barely enough to host from home

Well when I upgrade to 4mbps then I will have people test my server again. How much upload do you get?

Hmm, should improve slightly, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Not very good, as the area I live in isn't good for broadband due to the underground wiring

Do you run a server with those speeds? Because really there is not much difference on the upload speed? My internet is by sattelite. My provider offers up to 6mbps. If I have gotten to 1.5 upload with the lowest package they offer so with 6mbps I could prob get on average 1 to 2 mbps upload which really is twice what you got.
