I will be reviewing a lot of bukkit plugins out there because the community has failed at keeping everything in a professional matter. Horrible programmers,I am coming for you.

Ah, the OP's ignorant ranting against plugin devs continues.

I recommend reading his previous posts to see what kind of tool he is.

as an answer to his old question on his last post, essentials.mail is needed to view mail notification. however if you want /mail but not no mail notification, edit messages properties using http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Locale#Custom_Messages

Maybe you can help them out by submitting pull requests instead of being a total jerk and emphasizing minor issues.

But hey, everyone has their way of doing things.

Hmm.. I like your idea (Somehow) but i think that the less proffesional developers should have their space in this to. (As i myself wrote horrible plugins in the beginning) To watch the downloads go up kept me working and getting better but if no one downloads you lose all your interest for continuing.

Ohhhh hey there guys, awkward meeting you here. Thank you all for your "positive" responses. I will take the time in reviewing some of your "wonderfully" made plugins seeing as how some of you are so good at making them *cough-cough* of course this is only bad news for horrible programmers of course. :)

Where are we drawing the line of a 'Horrible programmer'? Is someone who has been making plugins for a mere month a horrible programmer, because their code will be far from perfect. Are we talking about someone who's plugins simple don't work the way you want them to?, because not all plugins revolve around you. I don't believe you can call someone a 'Horrible programmer', unless you, yourself, are quite the opposite. I would refuse to believe that you can possibly make any valid points on how good of a programmer someone is without knowing a thing about the topic yourself. Even then, can you judge someones programming capabilities from a single one of their plugins? I believe not. Personally, i do consider myself to be fairly decent at programming. Now i don't mean that i am the fountain of knowledge when it comes to programming, but likewise, i do have the capabilities to make the majority of plugins i require and make them to a reasonable level. But i by no means are in a position to rightfully call someone a horrible programmer, not by simple using one of their plugins. Since you are doing plugin reviews, you cannot say 'horrible programmers beware' because like i said, you can't say someone is a horrible programmer.

The thing is, many people call Notch a horrible programmer. But they themselves could by no means accomplish what he has, which is make a game, im talking about Minecraft (duh), and then make the game in a way that the community has developed the way it has. Now i know that quite the majority of the minecraft community is young, im talking anywhere from 10 through to 18. But then there are even adults who'm play this game. So can they explain how such a bad programmer can make a game which has come so far?

I am studying Computing, at AS level but nonetheless i am studying it. And there is indeed a programming section of the course and so we are being taught 'Good programming style'. These involve things which are:
    - Indenting code
    - Using meaningful identifier names
    - Commenting your code
    - Modularise your code into subroutines
    - Initialise all your variables

And the list does go on. Now these are things which are in the code of the program and so someone such as yourself would never see any of these things, but complying with these is considered good programming style and good programmers tend to use good programming style. I know for a fact that not every complies with all of the things i said above. I can admit, i rarely comment my code, only recently have i started doing that. Initialising all variables, I do tend to do this, but many people don't initalise the variable because it is being read in, for example. But the fact is you should still initialise your variables, that is to set them to a default value (0 for integers, doubles, floats etc and " " for Strings), regardless of if they are being read in. Why? Well the simple answer is the same for the reason to do any of the above. Readability, maintainability and ease of debugging.

At this point i don't know exactly what i have achieved, except that i have spent a while writing this when i should be doing homework. I know the vast majority of you will see this and just be like 'tl;dr' And personally, i don't blame you, i hate reading walls of text as above, but i like to write these walls of text because i like to include most, if not all, of what i am saying in one go. I also write these walls of text because i disagree with people such as yourself who want to go around claiming people horrible programmers.

Well, seeing as how 2 plugins that you said were "horrible" were simply not updated, I doubt your ability to even find the "horrible" plugins you are looking for. It honestly is not that hard to look at what build they are for.

Here, I'll review it for him, and there's some SERIOUS issues here:
    • No Vault support.
    • I don't want to have to OP all my admins so they can use the commands, and I can't figure out how to set up permissions 1, so yeah, totally useless.
    • I'm really disappointed that I need to use a / before all the commands. Totally inefficient, I shouldn't need to do that.
    • No variable for the number of players who haven't joined the server.
    • Only one firstjoin spawnpoint. Completely ridiculous.
    • I have to manually edit the files, it's not all set up for me how I want. This is incredibly inconvenient, as I not only have to find my plugins folder, I also have to edit the config.xml.
    • Why have a plugin if I can just disable everything it does?
    • The plugin uses metrics, but I'm american. Totally biased and not fair.
    • No clue how I'm supposed to "pull" on your website if I want changes. That's obviously not the proper use of language, but I won't hold anything against non-native speakers.
    • You say that your plugin will be ported to the API as soon as it is released, but I need it sooner than that.
    I'm joking by the way.

Any reviewer that disables voting AND comments obviously has no idea how to do a professional review.

My IQ just dropped at all the 100% codswallop this video contains. If you think the community is that bad, then leave because it will damn well improve with such an arrogant, pretentious and mildly uninformed person out of the way.

The thing is...you are an idiot. The reason some plugins do not have a download link initially is because the plugin is still in the process of being approved for its first version..hence nothing to download. Some plugins don't work because of some of YOUR mistakes as well as the developers'. For example, two plugins you said don't work WERE FOR A VERY OLD VERSION OF SPOUT, HENCE NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK! Some plugin developers don't even have a server. How are those developers trying to get you to go to their server that does not exist? Karma system is a horrible idea. Not everyone is a professional developer here, why should they be blackmarked for all future plugins they do because of their first one? Now, no free time to play on your server? Join the club! I don't even play on the server I am admin on that much anymore. I have NO free time between College and server maintenance. Are you a troll?

Edit: Quoted theguynextdoor because it had the video in it.

Unfortunately he's disabled ratings because he's scared his reputation will be affected.

He's also moderating comments because he's too scared somebody will speak their mind about his videos and views on Bukkit.

I don't know why I bother writing plugins when people like OP have access to them.

Think of it like this, you don't make plugins for moronic trolls like OP. But for the people who actually appreciate the work that most devs put into their plugins.
