I mean When you place some water on a surface, it flows in all directions. The same as lava.

Now when I take the source tile away, water is gone after a while, but lava stays. I am prett ysure this did not occur previously.

Lava will disappear after a while aswell. It's how minecraft was coded. Lava is a thick substance and water is a thin substance you know.

are you using lava from a bucket, or is it spawned lava?

Both. If you playce it cia bucket and then remove, the lava is only removed from a few other blocks, the rest stays there.
In nature when you dig and it flows out and then block it again, it stays there.

It takes something around 5 minutes for lava without a source block to disappear. Tested it one time.

Okay, so I'm not alone, but is happens on pure minecraft server too. Is there a way to report bugs to Mojang? Or are they busy implementing throwable eggs and stuff?

Lava isn't bugged, it just takes a while for it to disappear.

It's not a bug, it's implemented. If notch thought it was a bug he would've removed it a long time ago. :S If it's such a problem just place a block on the lava that won't disappear aswell.

No It's not that big a deal I just had a feeling it did not behave this way before, but maybe that was hMod...
