    Hello,

I struggled to find the best forum area to put this in. Mods please move it if it's not in the right one.

I want to set up a Bukkit server like so:
-"World" a map where you spawn when you connect to the server. It will be a confined area and the player will be in adventure mode so they won't be able to change anything or explore the map. There will be two teleportation areas that will take players to different maps. Depending on their permissions they will be able to use one or both teleports.

-one world, lets call it "7days", will allow players to play in creative mode, but the map will reset once a week on a defined schedule.

-the other world, lets call it "Survival", will allow for continuos survival play.

I have this mostly figure out except I want the weekly map resetting of "7days" to be done automatically and I don't want it to affect the other worlds uptime when it's being reset.

Any thoughts or ideas on how best to do this?

try out MultiVerse... its a plugin that lets you set up multiple worlds with different permissions and groups and people can use portals to get to the other worlds... but i dont know how to help with the resseting of the one map :( sorry

thanks. Ya, Multiverse is what what I'm using for the stuff you mentioned. It's a great plugin.
The part I'm struggling with is the resetting of the map.

I'm realizing the problem with having a creative mode map and a survival mode map on the same server. People could give themselves stuff on the creative map and waltz over to the survival one. I will probably have to make both survival.

Anyone have any ideas on how to restore a map to a previous state on a given schedule?

As far as the inventory issue goes, multiverse also has an inventories plugin designed specifically for that. I'm currently building a server with a creative mode area, a housing area, an adventure mode area, a skylands area, and a seperate creative and adventure area just for the admins. Each area has a separate inventory. Using multiverse-portals and multiverse-netherportals you can actually configure a separate nether and end area for each adventure mode area you want to have as well.

The issue you are going to have with your creative world resetting every 7 days is that if you automate it, there could be people in that world when the reload happens. So not only would you have to find a way to unload the world from memory, replace it with a blank slate, and reload it into memory, you would also have to /kick the players from that world, or have them teleported out of it before-hand. Something like this may be helpful, but you do have to stop/start your server for it to work.

With multiverse you could just unload the world, delete it in ftp then reupload the original version of it from your computer once a week providing you save the version of the world you want it reset to. Would take about 2 minutes and you wouldn't have to worry about having people in a world when it gets deleted.

Or... with multiverse you can go download the multiverse-adventure addon which does it safely while the server is running. It even ensures all players have left before doing an automatic reset, if that's what you want.

Thanks lokpique. Where do I find this addon? When I search dev.bukkit I can't see it...
