How long does it normal take to update bukkit to a new Patch, like now from 1.3.2 to 1.4 how long does that normale take, since i don't want to let my server be shutdown way to long duo to the update
since it is a bigger update than 1.3.1 to 1.3.2 it will take longer cause u have to go out and get updated versions of your plugins but just changing the craftbukkit doesnt take long at all like 2 min
Usually it takes about a week to get a decently stable RB out. Plugins vary as their devs have their own workloads. Generally, plugins work after an update.
So most of my plugins will still be working, if not the Bukkit source is all changed around. But its more when teh new Bukkit version normally comes out.
A question: Are you guys, or are you not, part of Mojang now? I would hope that, if you are part of Mojang, and are in the loop to receive THEIR latest dev. build, you would be prepared for the release of 1.4.2., and are functioning on a timetable to allow simultaneous release. If not, then what the hell was all the warm fuzziness about?
EvilSeph, dinnerbone, grum and probably some others that I've forgotten are employed by Minecraft, but to develop the official modding API. It makes little difference on the update time. The team do appreciate donations however.
