Hi, I've just tried to set up a Bukkit server on my Windows 2008 VPS. I think I've set it up correctly, as the RUN.bat is working fine. However, when I try to connect on my normal PC (off the VPS), I get the error message "connection timed out: connect". I'm not sure whether this is my fault, or if I need to allow a certain port through the VPS. I've put all of the information below anyway, in case someone could help me with it. Config file: Code: #Minecraft server properties #Fri Oct 05 05:16:45 PDT 2012 allow-nether=true level-name=world enable-query=false allow-flight=false server-port=25565 level-type=DEFAULT enable-rcon=false level-seed= server-ip= max-build-height=256 spawn-npcs=true white-list=false spawn-animals=true snooper-enabled=true hardcore=false texture-pack= online-mode=true pvp=true difficulty=1 gamemode=0 max-players=20 spawn-monsters=true generate-structures=true view-distance=10 motd=A Minecraft Server RUN.bat file - correctly configured: If you need any more information, I would be happy to provide. Thank you for reading, and I hope you can help me with my issue. - Reestv Bump. Sorry EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
I get this error sometimes (more specifically, my players do), and it requires a restart to fix. Do you have anything in common with my setup? Just /reload and keep trying. It happens to me too but randomly fixes itself. However sometimes it help if you look in the world folder>player>yourname and delete that. (No idea why but it does!)
It reloads all the data and once or twice my player data was corrupt (eg. It says they are online but not) then with /reload it fixes and they can join (for real) once more. Once it got so bad i had 3 ghost players of the same guy!
