hello bukkit i like to run a minecraft server but i want to be able to start it from both pc's and it must have the same world and the same ip is this possible? if so how ? (needs to work with hamachi) thx
Could you explain why you need one world served on one IP by two machines? Might help folks figure out what best to suggest.
Honestly, if you are using hamachi to connect, then I'm unsure if your knowledge of networks is complete enough to deal with creating a clustered minecraft server. EDIT : Also note, the "clouds" setting in minecraft is actually for the clouds. It is NOT a network setting. Ok, I am done
i and my friend want to be able to BOTH start the server even when i ( the owner he is the admin ) am not at my pc or my pc is off so how can he start to run it ?
Put the server on a PC that's always on, and either use Remote Desktop Connection to log into the machine remotely or use some sort of web-based frontend like Multicraft or McMyAdmin or SpaceBukkit or whatever. Then, either of you can log in from wherever and manage the server.
As someone else suggested, you can run everything off a dropbox folder that you both have access to. However you will have to play around with the run script.
