RAMDisk, SSD, Merging 2 Servers Together

Hey,

I currently have a single server to host a Tekkit server and I'm experiencing some TPS drops. The support team have given me a few suggestions to pick the TPS back up to 20 and be able to expand. They said I could get RAMDisk to speed up read/write speed, they also suggested getting an SSD.

Would someone be willing to give me a small description of which each would do, or some sources of information?

Also, they suggested I could purchase a second server and merge them together and get a more powerful processor.

Is anyone willing to explain how this would work or a source of information for this?

ram disk will basicly using ur ram to run as server storage data, which speed up very quickly (faster than SSD) but bad advantage is you need alot of ram if you have a very large server). SSD in other hand is slower but very fast compare to HDD in read/write small data (minecraft have alot). if you have a small server and alot of ram and on tight budget, you can try ramdisk, otherwise go for SSD

my server file is about 12.5GB ( include 7 world backup version of mcmineadmin)

Alright, thanks for the help. What about the merging of two dedicated servers?

Edit: Would it be worth getting both SSD and RAMDisk, or just one or the other?
