With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

i've found that if you go into your server.properties file and change the Snooper setting you can go from around 70~ tps, to a steady 19-20, for those of you who are running servers with the "Dev" builds and are having issues with lag.

What crashes? If it's software, then you need to reinstall whatever it is that's crashing. If it's hardware, then you have a more serious problem to worry about than Minecraft servers.

That's an issue caused by the author(s) of plugin(s) you use not keeping up to date with the development of the Bukkit API.

I come on here to see if there are any new Dev Builds, and I somehow get wrapped up in https://github.com/Bukkit/CraftBukkit/commits/ and stare in awe how people can write this stuff (I know no Java so it may be basic stuff and I'm just retarded).

Anyone and everyone trying to update to a possible development build needs to wait for Bukkit to pull out a recommended build and just sit on 1.2.5, or else you are at risk of map corruption, temporarily unavailable plugins, and whining users.

  24. Start pulling plugins. It's likely one of those.

    hi,

I do not know where to put it, but in the last Devbuild R0.1-1.3.1 (Build # 02303) is a bug.
the mobs move no longer when they burn / stay in fire.
Applies to both, neutral and agresive mobs.

Thank Craftbukkit team for your work!
I'm looking forward to your RB and will still patiently watch the dev versions :3

    greetings Shu

As the owner of LightForge Server we migrated to 1.3 even knowing there was no Bukkit release for it. Knowing our plugins would be inoperative. Thought playing vanilla for a time would be healthy, it reminds us of how much we appreciate all the hard work and loads of hours put in to each Bukkit upgrade. A lot of people are so dependent on those plugins they cant see past their nose. As I have seen alot of bashing against Bukkit on the forums. I have only one thing to say to you people. Stop being selfish, and be patient. All the pressure you put on Bukkit is not helping. I also want to say to Bukkit dont listen to them to much, and thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

Yes, I know people are putting pressure on the Bukkit team for not releasing a craftbukkit for 1.3. The bukkit team are working all through the pressure and they have been a huge success with their server making. I'm sure they are working on a stable build for us as well. I'm also concerned about people complaining because they have not released a stable build within 6 day's of 1.3.1's release, they need to wait just for a while stick with vanilla servers. Or just wait for them to release one. I'm patiently waiting for a Stable build for my server so yeah...

Crap.... If I may say... 2 weeks ago I made a 1.2.5 server :S... With 50 plugins... Now need to wait to update all plugins to 1.3 barehand :S And also for good release I run #2269 now , It works but its laggy as hell.. Normally I didnt have lag with 20 players or more.. Now lag is with 1 player lols? Is it using more ram?
