With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

Essentials has a world travel function, if the appropriate users have permissions.
MyWarps can also server this purpose nicely.

I'm sure there are 50+ other plugins that can server the same purpose if Multiverse does happen to break.

If you are brave, or willing to be a guinea pig, you could use a dev version of the plugin:

If you do happen to use the dev build, I recommend that you report any errors you encounter to the developers (include the errors from your server log file). Being proactive and reporting errors can help the development process.

If the plugin is updated, there likely wouldn't be significant changes that would erase existing inventories.
If you are concerned about this, the best place to ask would likely be somewhere more directly related to the plugin.

You should always backup your server files, in the event that anything is lost with updating.
In the past, when similar plugins broke due to an update, I simply credited the items back to the players, by looking at each players file and giving them what they had.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but I doubt you can say Minecraft/Bukkit hasn't had a big impact on your community. You wouldn't be here otherwise.

Just copy all your server plugins and information onto your desktop into a new folder..

The current estimate is 6,000,432 minutes, where the number of actual minutes is affected by variables P, B, and TnT. If you include B, the P may be affectively reduced or increased by an interval of 1 - 6,000,431.

If it wasn't huge they would have just gone to 1.2.6... Obviously it was big enough for its own release.

That's not what I was saying by any means, which is why you have to read -everything- that I wrote, and consider it as a whole. I was stating the differences between running a server, running a gaming group, and the responsibility (or lack of responsibility) of entities like Bukkit and Mojang in regards to those activities.

Bukkit is essential to both of my servers. Without it, I wouldn't have minecraft servers, so by no means did I mean to indicate that bukkit isn't essential to the success or existence of the aforementioned servers.

I was commenting in regards to (whats-his-names) remark about how, as server owners, we do all the work while Mojang rakes in all the money (paraphrasing). I was referencing the fact that, as a server owner, you do fairly little, and essentially nothing, by direct comparison to the actual work performed by the bukkit staff and the mojang developers.

It was my way of saying that server owners actually do -just barely above- nothing.
Configuring a server running bukkit and plugins requires a minimalist amount of work.
The user (PunJedi) was saying that he, and his 'staff' have invested so much time and energy into his server, when, it's not really the server (or shouldn't be) that he's invested said time and effort into.

Any significant time and effort would be spent fostering the development of the gaming group itself, not the servers.
