With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

For those who have their servers "down" or can't access them because it's outdated, you should've copied your old 1.2.5 jar so you could access it, you're basically stuck unless you can legally get an old jar. I copied my old jar for this.

wow, you would think by now that die hard Minecrafters would know what to do at update time, everyone posts but no one actually reads

Bukkit rocks, without them our communities would be nothing!

So much [bloop] going on here, it makes my eyes bleed. If you cannot connect to your server get the 1.2.5 jar for Minecraft and stick that in your %appdata% and you will be good to go.

  7. How far are they?

Could be worse, at least no one is begging for a release (At least not a lot of people)

They could be anywhere, and they'll post status updates here if they want.

Oh wow, I really thought that comment about the RB's was a joke

So the first RB after a patch may be crap, but all subsequent ones are *actually* recommended "real" builds? I wish that one would be called a CB (Compilable Build). Devaluing the term "recommended" to accommodate web hosts seems an odd move.

I guess I'll read the entire thread now to see what all the other comments were but that's my initial reaction :p

I'm sure they will be generally fine. It's just the devaluing of the term that I find odd. I mostly agree with what mbaxter and TnT said on page 1-2 though, and I sometimes use dev builds myself. If you're backing up first and testing things, you should be ok, and you should always be doing that regardless of the build.

Thanks to the bukkit team who are working very hard for the 1.3.1 update! Just one question though, will the craftbukkit for 1.3.1 be realeased today?

I don't usually use Dev Builds, I use the Recommended, but I might help test the Dev Builds. :)

That's unknown, it'll be released when it's released, just have to wait.

Ok so what I would like to know is why did they rid of ci.bukkit.org and change to dl.bukkit.org (kinda off topic) and also why did they stop putting the buggy devs out, I mean I like stable builds best but this down time really sucks because users like to play the latest and very FEW users stick to the older versions of the game.

    dl.bukkit.org can handle the traffic.

Children are complaining at me because of this, but I'm keeping them up to date as much as I can

I appreciate the hard work of the team, but if we were kept up to date by somebody, 75% of this thread wouldnt need to be here (which we have been, we now know they're working on it)

You can get all the builds you used to get from the old CI on dl.bukkit.org. We changed because we wanted to offer something better.

I have kept everyone up to date. This thread's original post has kept everyone up to date. What update status do you need?

I just liked the format better... haha I like one look and never change it. Just like I hate all texture packs.
