[Request] [Formatted] Chainmail Crafting Recipe

Suggested name: Chainmail

What I want: I want a way to FINALLY craft chainmail armor for some of the players on my server. Can somebody make it so "iron bars" (the ones you place like windows) can be used as the material for crafting chainmail armor? This should make a full set of chainmail using less than half of the iron needed to make a full iron set)

I would also like a config file so i can change how much durability the chainmail can have.

Ideas for commands: No commands needed for this plugin.

Ideas for permissions: chainmail.craft (allows the crafting of chainmail using this method)

When I'd like it by: Whenever it happens. Sooner is better than later for everyone's server.

 

Chain mail armour has the same durability as iron armour, so it would be a bit dodgy.

It's not possible to create "chains", unless you use Spout.

 

ahh, i apologize then (i was afraid it might require spout :-/). How about making it use the iron bars then? Like the ones you use for prisons and such? that way it only requires ~10 iron ingots to make a full set of chainmail armor.

...but if i'm not mistaken, it doesn't have the same protection amount as iron, correct? If so, then maybe include a config file to change the durability?

It doesn't look like "chainmail" is on his list... I will pm him and ask him though.

That'd be possible, and pretty cool. But, you'd probably want to decreasee the durability of chainmail armor, given that it's the same as iron.

EDIT: Saw your other post. Actually, it does...

From the Minecraft wiki,

"Chain armor has the same durability as iron armor"

 

I am aware that the durability is the same, but what i'm asking is whether it protects the same. Like how much of the percentage the damage the chainmail absorbs compared to iron.

 

Ah... It's less, but not by much I believe. I think it's slightly better than gold armor (?).

Hey guys! My RecipeAdder plugin only creates recipes for things that don't already have recipes. It doesn't add any new blocks or anything like that. (that probably would require Spout!) [is chainmail already an item? let me check now!]

I checked and there are ID's for chainmail helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots! I'll add recipes using iron bars and the normal armor layouts right now.

kps, the existing recipe for chainmail is using fire blocks.
