So, whilst searching for a good, cheap VPS to host a PVP bukkit server I found a site called bhost.
They are the cheapest for the memory and burst memory, but I am still wary of what i'm buying, so can anyone vouch for this site and/or tell me whether it can host a bukkit server with a healthy player amount (50-100)?

P.s. I am thinking of buying the platinum (OpenVZ, 2048MB ram and 2560MB burst ram for £10.00/m).

The maximum number of players that 2GB of ram can support is 24 players. Anything above this number is going to start causing severe lag. Please keep in mind that this number is based on stock Minecraft, not a server running Bukkit with plugins. Running plugins will require more ram and therefore the number of players that can be online before the server starts lagging will be reduced.

Ok... but I have seen many people say that 2GB ram can hold up to 100 players + have room for web hosting, oh well.
Can anyone reccomend a cheap VPS that can hold a lot of people on it? I've been through 100's it seems and can't seem to find any :'(

Maybe if you have no JVM optimization, never restart the server and have about 100 plugins -.-

No, I think 2GB for 24 players sounds right, especially when you are considering that there will be a full-blown operating system running on the VPS as well as the JVM/Minecraft server.

well, I was only going to put CentOS on it, but anyway ive found these guy, inspirenethost
They seem to have an absolutly INSANE deal 16GB ram + 500 gb raid (WOW), but 2.1GHz per core(4 cores) for ~£30/m
Is this viable? Are they Legit? How many players would they store? Would it run a PVP bukkit server?!?!?

Just posted that recently, and its less, £24.99/m or get a custom order with less disk space for £22.99/m. I contacted the owner and he said that he had a client that runs minecraft on his server and only has 30 players max. I believe the CPU is a bit slow since bukkit uses one core, and the ram is excessive... 16GB could hold more than 140 people..

Funny I host a server that had some months ago 80 players without lag and 4GB allocated to it.

Was there an OS running on top of the 4GB, like in the situation that we are looking at?

So, if I was thinking of buying the inspirenethost server (which I am considering), would I be able to host a website on it too? I fos, how would I go about doing that?

No since I do Shared MC hosting but still, a bare Linux install use almost nothing in CPU/RAM.

If he plans to run an SQL server off it and possibly a web server with phpmyadmin?
