How do i use checkworld.py to fix chunk errors?

I have a chunk error that iv had for a while but its getting really annoying spamming up the console and lagging everything up il delete that chunk if i have to but how? some1 said use checkworld.py so i downloaded it and read the instuctions and got python but then i got confused. i didnt now how to run it or load it. also i want to see what chunk im deletiing b4 i delete it (if its just some random area that doesnt matter its fine but if its somewhere important is there anyway to use a map editor to copy parts before i delete it and replace important stuff on the chunk after deleting and regening it?)
i have to fix this soon please help if you have anyway of fixing it plz help. (becides starting new map)

This script doesn't works with the minecraft server version Beta 1.3
I don't know if actually a script can repair a chunk in version Beta 1.3.
