Ugly Forests! How do I save nature?

Newbs have a tendency to always chop down trees except for the top log. This means that there is this giant floating blob of leaves and a log which nobody can chop down. And these. Are. everywhere!

What does everyone recommend to do to get rid of this? And to top it off my server has custom trees, so I imagine it isn't a quick fix.
Another issue is how do I stop people from burning down the entire forest without disabling flint?

 

Not sure about the floaters, but you can get worldguard and disable fire spread. This way people can still use flint to light netherrack or light mobs on fire, but nothing will burn down.

Auto cut trees fully down and plants saplings to regrow it So it will not only save nature it will help it!

Also worldguard for fire spread 100%
