I've figured it out - I'm goint to be using an old windows, but implementing 16 GIGS of ram, but how bouyt this: Do the number of CORES count in it? Or if it's x86 or x32? Thanks. Cause I really want to make a awesome server ;)

x86 = 32 bit. You need 64 bits to see more than 4 GB RAM.

depends on CPU, some can't take x64.

bukkit itself only ever uses one core I believe (correctly me if I'm wrong) but some other plugins maybe multithreaded, I think you might want to pick up an Intel dual or quad core CPU. Most modern CPUs are 64-bit so you shouldn't have any problem with that, but when you install your OS make sure that you're using the 64-bit version, or else the OS wouldn't be able to detect more than 4GB of ram. At last if I was you I'll use a bare minimum version of linux distribution (eg Debian) as the OS instead of Windows.
