[REQ] Elemental Combat Magic

    Suggested name: Elemental Magic

    A bit about me: I'm an avid minecraft player who has been working on a new RPG server for the last two years. I've looked high and low for a magic system that would work well in my server's RPG system, but to no avail. While I like to test and use mods, I'm new to bukkit.

    What I want: I'd like to see a plugin which allows a user to use activate elemental magic using a command. In order for the magic to take effect, the user would have to right click with an empty hand. Right-clicking with a diamond in their hand would cause the cost of the spell to drop by 1/2.

    Ideas for commands:
    Ice
    /freeze : encase mob or player that the reticle is on in ice. 1 heart/second over 3 seconds. This would cost 1 food point per use.
    /glacier : encases all mobs or players within 10 blocks directly in front of player. 4 food point cost.
    /ice age : encase all mobs or players within a 5 block radius in ice. 1 heart/second over 3 seconds. 8 food point cost.
    All Ice-based attacks would deal 2x damage to fire-type mobs (Blazes, magma cubes)

    Fire
    /flames : lights mob or player that the reticle is on on fire. Can be extinguished in water. 1 food point cost.
    /firewall : lights all mobs or players within 10 blocks directly in front of player on fire. Can be extinguished in water. 4 food point cost.
    /inferno : lights all mobs or players within a 5 block radius on fire. Can be extinguished in water. 8 food point cost.

    Air

    /gust : knocksback mob or player in reticle by 4 squares with no damage. 1 food point cost.
    /gale : knocksback mobs or players in 5 block radius with no damage by 4 blocks. 4 food point cost.
    /tornado : knocksback mobs or players in 10 block radius by 3 blocks. 10 food point cost.

    Earth
    /shield : places 3 pieces of dirt in a tower where the reticle pointed. 1 food point cost.
    /mud : slows down player or mob within reticle by 2x. 4 food point cost.
    /earthquake : causes 2 damage to mobs or players (without knockback) within a 10 block radius, adds effects of potion of slowness and confusion. 10 point food cost.
    Other
    /tempest : conjures a storm at cost of 6 food points.
    /lightning : causes a lightning bolt to strike mob or player in reticle at cost of 2 food points. Will supercharge creepers and turn pigs into zombie pigmen.
    /poison : causes cave-spider type poison damage at cost of 3 food points.
    /drain : leech life out of enemies by holding the right-click button. Drains 1 point of hunger for every 1.5 hearts recovered through leeching.

    Ideas for permissions: I'm not entirely sure how permissions work, but I'd love it if admins could control who uses magic, either by single spell or in groups. ie: Allow PlayerX to use Fire Types but not water, lightning, poison, grow or drain. Or : Allow player X to only use lightning.

    Also, I'd like to see a way that you could apply a weakness/resistance system. Such as setting a player to take 2x damage from Ice-based attacks like a fire mob, or having a player take 1/2 damage from a lightning strike, player-made or not.

    If either of these two things could be set to affect groups of players as well as individuals, my mind would be blown. :)


    When I'd like it by: In the next two weeks would be lovely, as I'd like to add it to my server as soon as is possible, but I don't know how much time it would take to make something like this, so within the next two months would be my personal maximum timeframe.

    Similar plugin requests: I've seen several magic requests on the boards, but I don't think any of them are too similar.

    Devs who might be interested in this: I wouldn't really know.
