    Suggested name: CustomPortals

    A bit about me: Small server owner...

    What I want: A lightweight, easy way to setup and use portals. Select the portal cuboid, define it as a portal, and then link it together.

    Ideas for commands (* denotes optional/extra feature that would be nice to have):

    /portal create <name>: Name the selected portal region.

    /portal link <name1> <name2>: Link two portals.

    /portal remove <name>: Removes a portal

    /portal price <name> <integer>: Charges a user for using a portal. If positive, deduct money from user's balance. If negative, then it GIVES a user money upon teleportation. (Use Vault or iConomy. If you plan on posting this publicly, I recommend Vault :p) (This isn't 100% NECESSARY, but I'd really like it...)

    /portal msg <name> <message>*: Sends <message> to the player upon teleportation

    /portal cooldown <name> <global | player> <integer> <s | m | h | d | w>*: Sets a cooldown on the portal. If global, then all players will not be able to use until the time has run out. If player, then only that player can't use until the time is up.

    Ideas for permissions:

    portal.create
    portal.remove
    portal.use (ONLY IF SPECIFIED IN CONFIG)*
    portal.price.free (doesn't charge the price for the portal)*
    portal.cooldown.global.exempt (Don't know how to order, but it would bypass the global cooldown)*
    portal.cooldown.player.exempt (Bypass the per-player cooldown)*
    portal.info (View the portal info)*


    Ideas for config.yml:
    toolID: 271* #The tool that is used to select the portal, if you cannot/do not wish to integrate with WorldEdit

    permission-to-use-portals: <true | false>* #Whether or not a player needs 'portal.use' to use portals.

    When I'd like it by: Whenever

    Other information: All of the nodes and commands with 'portal' can be replaced to closer match the plugin.



    Regarding other plugins: Yes, I know there are plugins that let you step on a telepad or hit a button, but that defeats the purpose of custom, user-defined portals. :p
    Also, I know that Multiverse 2 has some similar features. No matter how "not bloated" they make it, it still is heavyweight and lags my server.
    There are other plugins, like CreativeGates (which won't work because I have uniform portals). And there are some that are outdated.
    Normally, I'm not picky on plugins at all. But with portals, none of them seem to work or have the right features, without bogging me down...
    If you do decide to take this up, I heartily thank you :)
     
  2. this sounds really cool! i also had this problem. lots of plugins are outdated now : ( or don't have the right features


    but can someone pm me if this ever is publicly released and thanks.

    That's amazing, thank you! No worries about iConomy/Vault, it was just an extra feature that would be nice to have but isn't necessary.

    I'm using iConomy 7, but if it's easier for you, you could just use Vault since I have both :) .
