Multi-world server lag?

    Hey guys so I just realized that my server has been having some intense lag lately (not normally the case - over 1000ms increase) - i uninstalled all plugins reinstalled my craftbukkit etc. and what i realized was that my server ran fine with one world but when I started using multiverse to import my additional worlds thats where the lag started happening - any ideas?
